My Life in Color: a journal where each day is a color

Most journaling apps start with a blank page, and a blank page is the reason most journals stop after a week. My Life in Color starts with a color instead.

One tap a day

Turn the dial to how the day felt and log it. Great, good, okay, low or awful, each with its own color, or a palette you name yourself. You can add a note, a photo or another moment if you want to, but the color is enough. Words and photos open from the color, never the other way round.

It’s quick to reach from wherever you are: Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Siri (“Log a good day in My Life in Color”), Shortcuts, Control Center, the Action button, or your Apple Watch.

What the colors become

This is the part I enjoy most. Each finished month turns into a named paint chip you can share or set as your wallpaper. Years grow rings, like a tree. After a while you can see a season of your life at a glance, and the stats show your streaks and your brightest months.

Private by design

The journal lives on your iPhone. There’s no account to make and I never see it. You can lock the app with Face ID, and when sync between your devices arrives, it will go through your own iCloud.

Where it stands

My Life in Color is in development for iPhone and Apple Watch. It’s free to start, with an optional Color+ upgrade for extra palettes and features. It isn’t on the App Store yet; more on that here as it gets closer.
