Privacy policy · Effective October 18, 2026
Your colors stay yours.
My Life in Color keeps your journal on your own devices. We don't collect it, see it, or sell it, and there is no account to make.
- What we collect
- Nothing. The app has no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no third-party code.
- Where your journal lives
- On your iPhone or iPad, and on your Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro if you use them. Never on our servers; we have none.
- Who can see it
- Only you, and anyone you choose to share an export or image with.
- How to delete it
- Settings › Your data › Delete everything, or delete the app.
Who we are
My Life in Color is made by IndieDeveloperJ LLC ("we", "us"), an independent app developer in Arizona, USA. This policy covers the My Life in Color apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro, their widgets and shortcuts, and these web pages.
What the app keeps, and where
Everything you put in the app is stored on your device, inside the app's own storage:
- Your colors and moments: the color, its name, the date and time you logged it.
- Your words: notes and tags you add to a day.
- Your photos: only the photos you pick for a day. The app copies each one into its own storage; it can't see the rest of your photo library.
- Your palettes and settings: the palettes you use or make, the look, the reminder time, the lock.
The app's widgets, Siri and Shortcuts actions, and Control Center control read and write the same data through storage shared on your device. None of it is sent to us.
Apple Watch
If you use the watch app, your iPhone sends it your palette, your last two weeks of colors and whether Color+ is on, and colors you log on the watch come back to the iPhone. This goes directly between your devices through Apple's WatchConnectivity, not through us.
iCloud
When iCloud sync is available and turned on, your journal is kept in your own private iCloud database so it appears on your other devices. It is stored by Apple under your Apple Account, governed by Apple's privacy policy, and we cannot read it.
Apple Health
If a version of the app offers saving your colors to Apple Health as State of Mind, it does so only after you allow it in iOS. Health data is never used for advertising, never shared with anyone, and you can turn access off at any time in the Health app.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Face ID, Touch ID or Optic ID: to lock the app, if you turn the lock on. Your device checks your face, fingerprint, eyes or passcode; the app only learns whether it matched.
- Add to Photos: to save a month's swatch as a wallpaper image. This is add-only access; the app can't read your library.
- Notifications: for the evening reminder, if you turn it on. Reminders are scheduled on your device.
Purchases
Color+ is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your name, card or Apple Account. The app checks your Color+ status with Apple on your device. Apple gives us sales reports that don't identify you.
Exports and sharing
You can export your journal as a JSON file or a spreadsheet, and share images of your months and years. These are made on your device and go only where you send them.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive what you send, including your email address, and use it only to answer you. We keep that correspondence in our email inbox and delete it on request. If we ever ask for diagnostic details to fix a problem, sending them is up to you.
These web pages
These pages set no cookies and use no analytics. They are served by Cloudflare, which processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anyone's personal information, children's included.
Your rights
Because your journal stays on your devices, you already hold it: you can see, export, change or delete all of it in the app. For anything we hold, which is only email you've sent us, write to us and we'll answer within 30 days, whatever your country or state.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects what the app does with your data, we'll say so in the app's release notes first.
